Lynette Joubert
Professor Lynette Joubert is Director of the Practice Research Program in Health and Mental Health in the Department of Social Work at the University of Melbourne and Honorary Professor at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Her research agenda examines theoretical and implementation concerns about the contribution of psychosocial and social network factors to improved outcomes for patients in health and mental health; most significantly in the areas of oncology, suicide prevention and dementia with a specific focus on the significance of social determinants as risk factors in chronic disease. Her recent research has focused on social networks and gynaecological cancers, cancer pre-habilitation and service pathways for the elderly person with cancer. She coordinates the subject Psychosocial Oncology in the Postgraduate Online Master of Advanced Social Work Program at the University of Melbourne.
