Dr Senthi graduated from the University of Auckland and initially trained as a Radiation Oncology registrar throughout Victoria. He then spent almost 3 years in The Netherlands as a Clinical Research Fellow at the VU University Medical Centre working towards his PhD. The focus of this work has been to improving the survivorship of early stage non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, optimizing follow-up scheduling and the early detection of local recurrence.
Since his return to Australia he has helped advance the William Buckland Radiotherapy Centre’s Stereotactic program, implementing new technology, broadening patient eligibility for curative treatment. Dr Senthi continues multiple lines of active research including developing decision aids for patients undergoing cancer treatment and optimizing tumor response by combining stereotactic ablative radiotherapy with immune modulating drugs.
